HAL, BDL and MIDHANI organise roadshow for Defexpo-2020

A roadshow in connection with Defexpo – 2020 was jointly organised by three Defence PSUs HAL, BDL and MIDHANI to create awareness among Hyderabad based vendors for exhibition

Hyderabad: A roadshow in connection with Defexpo – 2020 was jointly organised by three Defence PSUs, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's (HAL) Avionics Division, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI) at Hyderabad on Wednesday. The main objective of the Roadshow was to enhance awareness among Hyderabad based vendors about the business opportunities which Defexpo – 2020 has to offer and also encourage their participation at the exhibition.

The roadshow began with a welcome address by HAL's General Manager (Avionics Division, Bangalore), Rajeev Kumar. Ministry of Defence's Joint Secretary (Aero) Chandraker Bharti (IAS) was the chief guest on the occasion. Vendors from over 180 firms based in Hyderabad and Secunderabad attended the Roadshow.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharti invited the participation of vendors at the Defexpo-2020 and stated that it will provide a very good business opportunity for vendors to showcase their products and exchange of ideas.

BDL's CMD Cmde Siddharth Mishra (Retd) in his address stated that it is a matter of pride for BDL that the anti-tank guided missiles, underwater weapons and surface-to-air missile like Akash are being produced with maximum indigenous content and supplied to the Armed forces with large scale participation from Indian private partners. BDL, over the years, has been progressively developing several vendors for each of its programmes and these vendors have become an integral part of the company's supply chain.

Defexpo – 2020

Defexpo – 2020, the 11th edition of the biennial mega defence exhibition, being organised by the Ministry of Defence, will be held from February 5 to 8 at Lucknow. This edition of Defexpo is focusing on the theme,'Digital Transformation of Defence' and is expected to bring the leading technologies in the defence sector under one roof and provide a myriad of opportunities for government, private manufacturer and start-ups.
