New Delhi: Kalyani Sethuraman (IRAS) has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been appointed as CVO of HAL for an initial period of three years, from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Earlier, Shrikant Walgad (IAS) was holding the additional charge as CVO of HAL, whose tenure ended on February 28.
Kalyani is an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer of the 1994-batch. Earlier, she was serving as Additional Divisional Railway Manager in the South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. Sethuraman is a science post-graduate (M Sc) from the University of Hyderabad Hyderabad. She also has done an MBA (Business Admin) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. She had joined Railway Services in 1994. She has served at various positions in different railways zone. She also has held as Director in the Department of Space from 2012-2017.
HAL is an Indian state-owned aerospace and defence company that has its headquarter in Bangalore. It is governed under the management of the Ministry of Defence. The corporation is primarily involved in the operations of aerospace and is currently involved in the design, fabrication and assembly of aircraft, jet engines, helicopters and their spare parts.
