New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has reported a provisional and unaudited revenue of Rs 30,400 crore for the financial year ended March 31, marking a slight increase from Rs 30,381 crore recorded in the previous fiscal year. Despite operational setbacks, the company sustained its revenue levels through accelerated deliveries of other products and services.
Commenting on the performance, HAL's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr DK Sunil stated, “This achievement was despite the shortfall in deliveries of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH). The LCA deliveries were impacted due to the non-availability of engines, while ALH deliveries were delayed following an accident in January 2025 and the subsequent grounding of the fleet. However, we expedited deliveries of other products and services, which helped us maintain our top line.”
HAL witnessed a significant improvement in its order book during the year, which increased from Rs 94,129 crore at the beginning of the fiscal to Rs 1,84,000 crore after adjusting for liquidation. During FY 2024-25, the company secured new manufacturing contracts worth Rs 1,02,000 crore and Repair and Overhaul (ROH) contracts totaling Rs 17,500 crore. Notably, HAL signed a landmark contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) "Prachand" valued at Rs 62,777 crore—its largest-ever procurement contract with the MoD.
To meet growing demand, HAL expanded its production capabilities by establishing additional assembly lines for the LCA and HTT-40 aircraft and augmenting its aero-engine capacity at Koraput. Among the major highlights of the year, HAL became the first Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) to attain the prestigious ‘Maharatna’ status.
Additionally, the company signed contracts for the supply of 12 additional Su-30 MKI aircraft, the Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) of 40 Do-228 aircraft, the supply of 240 AL31FP engines for Su-30 MKI aircraft, and the avionics upgrade for one IL-78 aircraft. Demonstrating swift execution, HAL delivered the first AL31FP engine within a month of contract signing.
