Independence Day: GSL CMD Nagpal felicitates outstanding employees

Vasco-Da-Gama, Goa: The 75th anniversary of India's Independence "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL). Cmde BB Nagpal, NM, IN(Retd), CMD, GSL unfurled the National flag at GSL campus, which was synchronized with the singing of the National Anthem.

On the occasion, GSL CMD felicitated outstanding employees with 'Commendation Awards' and 'Special Commendation awards' for exemplary work in their respective areas.

In view of the precautionary measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the function this year was held with a limited number of invitees.

"Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, GSL has been able to meet the targets by adopting innovative measures and technology. Our performance during the Financial Year 2020-21 has been exceedingly satisfying and we have witnessed some landmark events, which will induce positive growth in terms of revenue and profit in spite of facing a difficult and challenging business environment," CMD Nagpal in his address.

"Our performance has also been significant, contributing to the overall growth of this company, with more than 18 Refits being completed in the last year," he added.

"As a responsible corporate, GSL has been implementing all precautionary measures to ensure the health and welfare of its employees," CMD said complementing the Corona warriors from the medical department, administration and CISF for their invaluable contributions in GSL's fight against COVID 19 pandemic.
