During the meeting, both sides discussed collaboration in areas such as training, joint military exercises, medical cooperation and defence industrial engagement. They also signed the Rules of Procedure to oversee the implementation of bilateral defence cooperation, establishing a structured framework for future Joint Commission engagements.

The meeting was co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), and Kaid Nour Eddine, Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces of Algeria. The Indian delegation included officials from the three Services, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, Department of Defence Production, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Armed Forces Medical Services and the Ministry of External Affairs.

The defence partnership between India and Algeria has gained momentum since the signing of a defence Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2024, supported by high-level exchanges between the two countries.
