Kunjumon E Mathew set to be Director (Shipbuilding) HSL

Mathew is Commodore in Indian Navy currently and has been selected for the position by a PESB panel on Friday

New Delhi: Kunjumon E Mathew is set to be the new Director (Shipbuilding) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). Mathew's name has been recommended by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on Friday. He is currently serving as Commodore in the Indian Navy. Mathew has been selected from a list of four candidates. The two of them on the list were from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) and one was from HSL.

Hindustan Shipyard Ltd is India's premier shipbuilding organization catering to the needs of shipbuilding, ship repairs, submarine construction and refits as well as design and construction of sophisticated state-of-the-art offshore and onshore structures. Direct sea access, excellent infrastructure, skilled work force, rich expertise garnered over the years in building 189 vessels and repairing 1968 vessels of various types enable HSL to offer competent services for the defence and maritime sectors. Considering the strategic requirements, the yard was brought under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence on 22 Feb 2010. The Registered Office of the company is located in Visakhapatnam and has a regional office at New Delhi.
