MDL joins India’s COVID-19 fight, contributed Rs 2 crore

Mumbai: As per Prime Minister's call for the nation's support against Coronavirus (COVID-19), a highly contagious disease which has gripped the whole world in its clutches, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL) Limited has joined nation's fight against the pandemic. To support the noble cause of fighting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in India, the warship builders has contributed Rs 2 crore to the Prime Minister's citizen assistance and relief in emergency situation fund (PM- CARES fund) from its corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund.

In addition to this, MDL has also launched a number of CSR initiatives to support the country's fight against the Coronavirus (COVID). The company has distributed 200 bags of rations to the needy people of Mumbai through Oscar Foundation.

The Prime Minister had announced 21-days national lockdown to contains the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. According to the data from the Health Ministry and the State Governments, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India have reached 1,547 so far.
