MG Balasubrahmanya appointed as Director (HR) of HAL

The ACC has approved the appointment of MG Balasubrahmanya as Director (Human Resources) on the Board of HAL on Friday

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of MG Balasubrahmanya as Director (Human Resources) on the Board of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), one of India’s premier aerospace and defence PSUs, on Monday.

Balasubrahmanya is currently serving as Executive Director at HAL, where he has been associated with several key initiatives related to human resource development, organisational restructuring, and talent management within the company.

Balasubrahmanya was recommended for the post of Director (HR) of HAL by the PESB Selection Panel in its 12th Selection Meeting of 2025, held on February 8.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the appointment has been made on the recommendation of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, which oversees HAL’s operations and strategic direction.

HAL, a Navratna defence PSU, plays a critical role in India’s indigenous defence production capabilities and has been at the forefront of manufacturing aircraft, helicopters, avionics, and related systems for the Indian armed forces.
