MIDHANI has partnered with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in various indigenous aero-engine programmes, supplying critical materials developed through its capabilities in advanced metallurgy and indigenous materials technology.
The delivery of the 2,000th aero-engine at HAL’s Koraput Division marks a significant milestone for India’s growing indigenous aero-engine ecosystem. The milestone also highlights the importance of strategic materials and advanced alloys in building domestic capabilities for critical aerospace applications.
MIDHANI has contributed to the indigenisation of critical materials, including single-crystal superalloys and other high-temperature materials used in demanding aero-engine applications.
The company said its contribution to various aero-engine programmes was recognised by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and HAL Chairman and Managing Director Ravi K.
Commenting on the milestone, MIDHANI Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr SVS Narayana Murty said the development of indigenous aero-engines requires self-reliance in critical materials.
