RINL’s N Gowri Sankara Rao set to be Director (Finance) of DPSU MIDHANI

N Gowri Sankara Rao, who is currently serving as General Manager in RINL, has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI)

New Delhi: (Defence PSU News) N Gowri Sankara Rao is set to be Director (Finance) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI) Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. Rao's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday afternoon. Currently, he is serving as General Manager (Finance) in the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel.

Rao has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of MIDHANI, from the list of five candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of two candidates, including Rao, who were from RINL and others were from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited.

The Director (Finance) post in MIDHANI is vacant since January 8.  As Director (Finance) of MIDHANI, Rao will be overall in charge of the finance and accounts of the organisation and also will be responsible for evolving and formulating policies related to finance and accounts as well as implementation thereof.

It is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), under the administrative control of Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. MIDHANI is the only producer of Titanium in India. MIDHANI specializes in manufacturing a wide range of superalloys, titanium, special purpose steels and other special metals and alloys meeting stringent international standards for application in aerospace, defence, atomic energy, power generation, chemical and various other high technology industries.
