Prakash Rajpurohit (IAS) appointed as Government Director on BDL board

IAS officer Prakash Rajpurohit has been appointed as Government Director on the board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)

New Delhi: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) has appointed Prakash Rajpurohit, Joint Secretary (DIP), Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production, as Part-Time Official Director (Government Director) on its Board.

Rajpurohit is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre. Presently, he is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production.

The appointment was approved by the competent authority and conveyed by the Ministry of Defence through an Office Memorandum dated September 17, 2026. Rajpurohit has been appointed in place of Meera Mohanty, Joint Secretary (P&C), with effect from September 17, 2026, and will hold the position until further orders.

Rajpurohit holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi. Before joining the Ministry of Defence, he was serving as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, where he handled matters relating to international investment treaties.

During his tenure with the Government of Rajasthan, Rajpurohit held several field and policy assignments, including in district administration, commercial taxes and as Excise Commissioner.
