New Delhi: S Damodar Bhattad is set to be the next Director (Finance) of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He was recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on July 22. Presently, he is serving as General Manager in the same organisation.

Bhattad has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of BEL from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel. On the list, Bhattad was the only candidate from BEL. Other candidates were from Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL), RITES Limited and Power Grid.

As Director (Finance) of BEL, Bhattad will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He will be overall in charge of the finance and accounts functions of the organisation and will be responsible for evolving and formulating finance policies as well as implementation.
