Shailesh Vagerwal appointed as CMD of BDL

The Government has approved the appointment of Shailesh Vagerwal as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)

New Delhi: The Government of India has approved the appointment of Shailesh Vagerwal as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), the defence public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence.  Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager at Munitions India Limited.

Vagerwal was been recommended for the post of CMD of BDL by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on February 21. He was among nine candidates, who were interviewed for the top-most position of BDL.

According to a regulatory filing by BDL, the Ministry of Defence's Department of Defence Production conveyed the approval through an Office Memorandum dated June 18.

Vagerwal will serve as CMD of BDL from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on March 31, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
