Shailesh Vagerwal set to be next CMD of BDL

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Shailesh Vagerwal for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)

New Delhi: Shailesh Vagerwal is set to be next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on February 21. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager at Munitions India Limited.

Vagerwal has been recommended for the post of CMD of BDL from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on February 21. These candidates included senior executives from organisations such as Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited, Troop Comforts Limited, and officials from the Ministry of Defence.

The final appointment will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
