Three Defence PSUs appoint Independent Directors to their boards

Defence PSUs namely - BEL, GRSE and MDL have announced the appointment of Independent Directors on their respective board for three years

New Delhi: Three major Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) — Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) — have announced the appointment of new Independent Directors to their respective Boards, as per notifications issued by the Ministry of Defence.

BEL appoints Bharatsinh Prabhatsinh Parmar

BEL has appointed Bharatsinh Prabhatsinh Parmar as Non-Official Independent Director effective May 21. A former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and ex-Chairman of the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation, Parmar brings extensive experience in governance and public administration. He holds degrees in Commerce and Law and has a strong background in agriculture and legal affairs.

Kamleshbhai Mirani Joins GRSE Board

GRSE announced the appointment of Kamleshbhai Shashikantbhai Mirani as Part-Time Non-Official Independent Director, also effective May 21. A commerce graduate from Saurashtra University, Mirani has held leadership positions in the Rajkot Municipal Corporation and the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, and is known for his contributions to public service, real estate, and local governance.

MDL inducts Kedar Nath Gupta as Independent Director

MDL has inducted Kedar Nath Gupta as Part-Time Non-Official Independent Director from May 21, for a three-year term. A graduate in Science and Law, Gupta has served as Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and has a long-standing commitment to social welfare, education, and community development.

All three appointments are for a term of three years or until further orders and are part of the Ministry of Defence’s efforts to strengthen corporate governance in defence PSUs through experienced and diverse board-level leadership.
