Vasudev Ranganath Puranik set to be Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) of MDL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Vasudev Ranganath Puranik for the post of Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) of MDL

New Delhi: Vasudev Ranganath Puranik is set to be the next Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a Miniratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as Executive Director in the same organisation.

Puranik has been recommended for the post of Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel) of MDL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of three candidates including Puranik, who were on the list were from MDL and one each from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), NTPC Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Indian Navy.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) is the leading Shipyard amongst all Defence PSU Shipyards engaged in the construction of Warships and Submarines. MDL is presently constructing Missile Destroyers, Stealth Frigates and Scorpene Submarines in order to achieve self-reliance in warship production for the Indian Navy. It also manufactures warships and submarines for the Indian Navy and offshore platforms and associated support vessels for offshore oil drilling. It also builds tankers, cargo bulk carriers, passenger ships and ferries.
