BDL inaugurates Vigilance Awareness Week

New Delhi: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) inaugurated its Vigilance Awareness Week on Monday, which will be observed across all its units from October 28 to November 3. The theme for this year is “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” emphasizing the role of integrity in promoting national development.

The week-long observance at BDL commenced with the “Integrity Pledge,” administered by Commodore A. Madhavarao (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director of BDL, from the Corporate Office. This pledge was also taken by employees across BDL’s Kanchanbagh, Bhanur, and Visakhapatnam units and various offices, reaffirming their commitment to ethical practices and transparency in operations.

BDL Director (Production) PV Raja Ram and Director (Technical) DV Srinivas Rao along with other senior executives, attended the inauguration ceremony. Messages from the President of India, Vice-President, Prime Minister and the Central Vigilance Commission were read to highlight the importance of vigilance in achieving a corruption - free society.

In his address, BDL CMD Commodore A Madhavarao (Retd) elaborated the Integrity Pledge administered to the employees and the messages received for the benefit of an in-depth comprehension by the employees. He also urged all the employees to actively participate in the week long events being organised to mark Vigilance Awareness Week - 2024.

Throughout the week, BDL has planned a series of sensitization programmes to promote vigilance awareness among stakeholders. These include:

  • Competitions such as essay writing, debate, quiz, slogan writing, and poster making for employees, their spouses, and school and college students.

  • Vendor Meet to educate BDL vendors on the importance of vigilance and ethical practices.

  • Walkathon to spread vigilance awareness among various strata of the society.

  • Gram Sabha to engage the community in vigilance awareness.

  • Interactive Session with students of DAV School, Bhanur, centred on this year’s theme to instill values of integrity at a young age.

  • Workshops by the Vigilance department for BDL employees on company policies, procedures and preventive measures.

BDL’s Vigilance Awareness Week aims to foster a culture of integrity within the organisation and its extended communities, contributing to a transparent and prosperous society.
