Coal India Limited (CIL) marked a historic milestone on November 1, as it celebrated its 50th Foundation Day, entering a golden jubilee year of operations

New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL) marked a historic milestone today as it celebrated its 50th Foundation Day, entering a golden jubilee year of operations. The day commenced with a solemn tribute at the Coal Martyrs' Memorial, where CIL’s Chairman PM Prasad, along with the Functional Directors and the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), paid respects to honor the contributions and sacrifices of coal industry workers over the decades.

Following the memorial service, Prasad unfurled the Coal India flag, symbolizing CIL’s enduring legacy and steadfast commitment to India’s energy sector. Addressing the attendees, Shri Prasad acknowledged the invaluable contributions of both past and present employees, crediting their efforts as the cornerstone of the company's success. He highlighted that coal will remain a key energy resource for at least the next 20 years, reinforcing CIL’s critical role in meeting the country’s energy requirements.

"As we look to the future, our focus remains on ensuring a stable and reliable coal supply for India's growing energy needs,” Prasad stated. "Our journey is a testament to the resilience and dedication of our workforce, and together, we will continue to drive India's energy aspirations forward."
