Corporate centre wins POWERGRID Inter-Regional Tennis Tournament

The four-day sporting event, held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, saw nine teams from different Power Grid regions across the country

New Delhi/Udaipur: The Corporate Centre team has emerged as champions at the Inter-Regional Lawn Tennis Tournament organised by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power.

The four-day sporting event, held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, saw nine teams from different Power Grid regions across the country compete, showcasing skill, sportsmanship, and the organisation’s commitment to promoting fitness and wellness among employees.

The championship trophies were presented by District Collector & Magistrate of Udaipur Namit Mehta (IAS); Power Grid's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) RK Tyagi; and Power Grid's Director (Projects) Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra.

In the Team Championship category, Corporate Centre secured the top position, followed by Northern Region-I as first runner-up and North-Eastern Region as second runner-up. In the Open Doubles category, the duo of Power Grid CMD RK Tyagi and ED (CMG-CC) VS Bhal claimed the title. The pair of D Hari Kishore, Chief Manager (PMD) and Parvinder Malik, Chief Manager (CS) (Corporate Centre) finished as first runner-up, while Manish Lohani, Manager, RTAMC, and Devendra Singh Gaur, Jr. Engineer (NR-I), secured third place.

Special recognition was accorded to Power Grid CMD who was named most valuable player, and Power Grid ED Vikram Singh Bhal who received the Impact Player of the Tournament award.
