Rourkela: While Steel Authority of India's (SAIL) Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) is making every possible effort to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus, Deepika Mahila Sangahti a leading philanthropic organisation of the steel city is extending a helping hand in this direction. The Deepika Mahila Sangahti through its tailoring unit is making masks on a war footing for use at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) and employees of RSP.

The Sanghati has made arrangements for collection of the cloth of requisite specifications from IGH and after getting it cut, delivering it at the homes of the women at their homes. The masks being stitched by the women are collected next day and deposited at IGH. This way, Deepika Mahila Sanghati is able to deliver about 250 masks per day.

It is worth mentioning here that, Deepika Mahila Sanghati has all along been a partner in the progress of RSP. The volunteers of the Sanghati manage much corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the Plant RSP like Deepika Hast Kargha, Deepika Ispat Sikshya Sadan, Jagruti Sanitary Napkin production centre etc. They are again extending selfless service to RSP when the Steel Plant is facing colossus challenges because of the coronavirus.
