New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sandeep Kumar Gupta has been conferred with the Mahatma Award 2025 for Leadership in Business Sustainability and Social Impact. The award recognises his exemplary leadership, strategic foresight, and commitment to driving responsible growth in the energy sector while ensuring meaningful contributions to society.

The honour was presented by Dr Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lt. Governor of Puducherry, along with Amit Sachdeva, Gandhian, lawyer, and founder of the Mahatma Awards, popularly known as the CSR Man of India.

Under Gupta’s leadership, GAIL has not only strengthened its position in the energy sector but has also scaled up impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) interventions. The company’s initiatives span healthcare, education, skill development, environmental conservation, and women empowerment, positively impacting millions of lives across the country.

Adding to the recognition, GAIL was also honoured with the Mahatma Award 2025 for CSR Excellence for its sustained efforts in empowering communities and promoting sustainable development. This award was presented by Amit Sachdeva and A Annamalai, Director & Secretary, National Gandhi Museum.

The award was jointly received by GAIL CMD, along with Director (HR) Ayush Gupta, ED (CSR & HR) Anoop Gupta and the GAIL CSR team.
