Kolkata: As a part of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of GRSE, Annual Family Day 2019-20 'Ahoban' was observed on February 2020. The event witnessed the participation of employees from all units of GRSE. GRSE's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Rear Admiral VK Saxena, IN (Retd.), Director (Finance) SS Dogra, Director (Shipbuilding) Cmde S Nayyar, Director (Personnel) Cmde PR Hari and other senior officials along with their family graced the occasion and were also actively participated in the day-long programme. The event was held in GRSE's Main Unit and around 900 employees and their family members participated in the programme.

GRSE organised various competitions for the employees and their families, followed by the prize distribution ceremony where the winners and runners – ups were given away prizes by the senior officials of GRSE. Various events such as quiz, essay writing and painting competition, lemon and spoon race, short drama competition etc. were organised to entertain the employees and their families. The event concluded with a scintillating musical programme by Sayam Paul, renowned finalist of "Zee Bangla Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa," who belted popular numbers which enthralled the audience.
