New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Ltd (HSL), a Defence PSU has received five SODET Silver Awards at the National Quality Circles Competition for defence PSUs. The event, themed around Innovation, indigenisation and quality, took place at GRSE, Kolkata on November 29.

HSL's participation involved five teams, each received a silver award for innovations such as the removal of rudder and rudder stock in afloat condition, in-situ repair of a cargo vessel's hatch cover, improved quality of work with Limber holes processing, innovative Stem Tube & ‘A’ Bracket installation, and reduction of re-APTs in a tank. This recognition reflects HSL's commitment to adopting innovative methods for enhanced efficiency.

SODET (Society of Defence Technologists) a non-profit certification body is established by like-minded people from different organisations have come together to provide management system certification services as per the relevant national and international standards in an ethical and impartial manner in line with the requirements of society at large.
