Mumbai: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited's (HPCL) Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) MK Surana has been conferred with Best CEO award for Oil and Gas Sector by Business Today at Business Today MindRush Conclave in Mumbai on December 13, 2019. The award was presented by Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan.

Same year 240 number of companies qualified for the Business Today Best CEO Survey out of which 21 were from Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sectors and 219 were non-BFSI. The Best CEO survey, which has been conducted since 2012, has evolved over time to capture the nuances of organisational and individual transformations through quantitative and qualitative metrics. It starts off with the performance evaluation of the CEO over the last three fiscals. An eminent jury then overlays the qualitative aspects to the shortlist to identify the winners. As a result, the winners of Business Today Best CEO awards are the most outstanding performers from India Inc.
