HSL celebrates 85th Sapphire Foundation Day with renewed vision and reforms

New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) celebrated 85th Sapphire Foundation Day with a week-long series of events from June 12 to June 21. Highlights included a tribute to Seth Walchand Hirachand, a yoga session following the Prime Minister’s Yogadhara 2025 broadcast, health drives, and an MSME Conclave promoting Ease and Speed of Doing Business.

HSL unveiled several upgraded infrastructure facilities such as a valve testing bay, digital kiosk, refurbished dining areas, and a new power room, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and employee amenities. Refurbished residential quarters, community halls, training spaces, and the newly established Motivation Hall—showcasing HSL’s future vision and capabilities—were also inaugurated. Additionally, twelve key publications were released to streamline operations and promote knowledge-based practices.

HSL Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Cmde Hemant Khatri, stated that HSL’s transformation—from building small tugs to delivering strategic platforms like INS Dhruv and Nistar—is a result of professional competence, conviction, and courage, driven by a mindset shift from ‘me, I, and myself’ to ‘we, us, and HSL’.

He lauded the contribution of all officers, staff, and workmen, emphasizing that the transformation is anchored in accountability, digital literacy, and reform with intent.

He thanked stakeholders, business partners for their enduring support and reaffirmed HSL’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and national maritime growth.
