The session, hosted through Indian Oil’s R&D Centre, brought together senior leaders and technical experts from the company’s Refineries, Pipelines, R&D, Marketing, Business Development and Cryogenics divisions.

The workshop has been inaugurated by Arvind Kumar in the presence of Shailesh Tiwari, Subhajit Sarkar, and Anchal Liddar, along with senior delegates from API and Indian Oil.

According to the company, the session highlighted Indian Oil’s focus on technology-driven collaboration, global benchmarking and operational excellence to support safe, efficient and future-ready energy operations.

Discussions during the technical session covered areas such as process safety, asset integrity, operational reliability, advanced inspection systems, workforce competency and supply chain resilience across the hydrocarbon value chain. Deliberations also focused on internationally aligned certification systems and evolving industry practices in digital integrity management, reliability engineering and operational excellence.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kumar said that Indian Oil’s ongoing expansion in refining, petrochemicals and infrastructure requires continuous alignment with globally accepted technical frameworks and industry best practices.

“Standards are the bedrock of trust and operational excellence. API standards are foundational to our engineering, design, maintenance and inspection protocols. They are deeply embedded in every layer of IndianOil,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration in the global energy industry, he added that deeper cooperation on process safety and risk management would help organisations continue learning and leading in the sector.

API is globally recognised for developing standards, recommended practices and certification systems widely adopted across the international oil and gas industry to strengthen safety, reliability and operational efficiency.

Indian Oil said API’s growing engagement in India is expected to create new opportunities for domestic industries to align more closely with globally recognised technical systems and capability frameworks.
