MCL celebrates 80th Independence Day; highlights 200 MT coal production milestone

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, with Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday Anant Kaole highlighting the company’s contribution to national energy security and inclusive development.

Kaole hoisted the National Flag and took the salute of marching contingents at the company’s headquarters. Addressing the gathering, he paid tribute to the freedom fighters and highlighted MCL’s role in ensuring energy security as well as its continued efforts towards communities in and around its operational areas through CSR and welfare initiatives.

He appreciated the dedication of Team MCL in achieving a hat-trick of producing 200 MT of coal in each of the last three financial years.

The CMD extended Independence Day greetings to MCL employees, stakeholders and their families. The celebrations were attended by Director (Technical) Sanjay Kumar Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer Sambeet Saurav Nayak, former Directors, senior officials, members of Jagruti Mahila Mandal, employees, their families and other stakeholders.

School students presented vibrant dance performances, adding to the patriotic fervour. Dignitaries also felicitated top-performing Class 10 and 12 students of DAV Public School, Burla, for their outstanding performance in board examinations. The best marching contingents and cultural performances were also recognised.

Independence Day celebrations were organised across MCL’s operational areas, reflecting the spirit of “Nation First” and reaffirming the company’s commitment to responsible mining, energy security and inclusive growth.
