MCL on Monday celebrated 'World Environment Day 2023' with employees taking a pledge for adopting sustainable practices in their daily life

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) on Monday celebrated World Environment Day 2023 with employees taking a pledge for adopting sustainable practices in their daily life.

At the company headquarters here, Shri Madhusudan Sharma, General Manager (Environment & Forest) unfurled the environment flag, symbolizing the company's commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable mining.

Heads of various departments joined the celebration along with their officers and staff who took a pledge to conserve the environment and ensure a greener future for generation next. Meanwhile, a message from Chairman, Coal India, was also read out to the attendees.

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, which was marked by a week-long series of awareness activities on environment in the company, the HoDs and the GMs planted saplings in the headquarters premises.
