New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) marked International Women’s Day 2025 with grandeur, celebrating the achievements, resilience, and contributions of its female workforce. The event, held at the company headquarters in Sambalpur, underscored MCL’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The celebration was graced by Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), and Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), alongside Alpana Shukla Rao and Rashmi Behura, Vice Presidents of Jagruti Mahila Mandal, MCL. In a special recognition of bravery and service, MCL’s Female Rescue Team was felicitated for their outstanding contributions to workplace safety and emergency response.

Adding depth to the occasion, Ananya Anusuya Naik, a distinguished entrepreneur and social worker, and Namrata Jain, a cancer survivor, delivered inspiring addresses on women’s empowerment and the pursuit of gender equality. Their compelling narratives resonated with the audience, emphasizing the significance of resilience and determination in overcoming challenges.

The event also featured cultural performances that highlighted the rich heritage of Sambalpur and Odisha, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The celebrations saw the enthusiastic participation of members of the Women in Public Sector (WIPS) forum, female employees from the company headquarters, and residents of MCL’s headquarters colonies.

In addition to the central event in Sambalpur, similar programs were organized at MCL’s Bhubaneswar office and various area headquarters, ensuring widespread engagement across the company.

MCL’s observance of International Women’s Day reaffirms its dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace where women’s contributions are acknowledged and celebrated, aligning with its broader vision for organisational excellence and social responsibility.
