MCL reaffirms customer-first approach at Consumers Meet 2025

New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a leading subsidiary of Coal India Limited, hosted Consumers Meet 2025 at its headquarters in Sambalpur on Monday, bringing together key stakeholders from the coal and power sectors.

MCL's Chairman-cum-Managing Director (MCL) Uday A Kaole presided over the meet along with senior leadership including Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) PK Patel; Director (Technical/Operations) JK Borah; Director (Finance) AK Behura; and Director (Technical/Project & Planning) SK Jha. Area General Managers, Heads of Departments from headquarters, and other senior officials were also in attendance.

In his keynote address, Kaole reiterated MCL’s commitment to a customer-first approach and emphasized the company’s focus on assured coal supply, adoption of advanced technology in quality control, and efficiency in the supply chain. He underlined MCL’s initiatives in quality enhancement, transparency, and sustainable mining practices, aligning with its broader vision of contributing to India’s energy security.

Adding to the discussions, Subhashree Choudhary, Secretary General of the Coal Consumers Association of India (CCAI), highlighted evolving industry expectations and stressed the need for consumer-centric practices to address the dynamic challenges of the sector.

The event witnessed active participation from leading power and non-power sector consumers, including Adani Power Ltd, JPL Tamnar, DB Power Ltd, APGENCO, NTPC Ltd, and GMR Kamalanga, among others. An open forum allowed consumers to share feedback, which was constructively addressed by MCL’s leadership.

The Consumers Meet 2025 underscored MCL’s dedication to operational excellence, sustainability, and strengthening trust with its valued consumers across regulated and non-regulated sectors.
