MRPL & ALIMCO to distribute assistive devices to divyangjan

MRPL and ALIMCO have signed an MoU for the distribution of aids & appliances to the persons with disabilities under MRPL's CSR initiative

Mangalore: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has signed an MoU with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a Minisratna PSU under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, for the distribution of aids & appliances to the persons with disabilities under MRPL's CSR initiative.

The MoU was signed in presence of senior officials of both organisations at MRPL's headquarters Mangalore on Friday. As per the MoU signed between ALIMCO and MRPL, distribution camps will be organised at Mangalore, Raichur, Udupi and Yadgir districts of Karnataka for an estimated cost of Rs 2.79 crore. In the distribution camps, artificial limbs, aids & appliances such as Tricycle, Wheel Chairs, BTE Hearing Aids, Crutch Axilla Adjustable etc. to persons with disabilities (divyangjan) will be distributed.

ALIMCO is a "not for profit" PSU and has been manufacturing various types of aids & appliances on a mass scale to meet the requirements of the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs-Divyangjan), across the country.

MRPL

Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), is an oil refinery at Mangalore and is a subsidiary of ONGC, set up in 1988. The refinery is located at Katipalla, north from the centre of Mangalore city. The refinery was established after displacing five villages of Bala, Kalavar, Kuthetoor, Katipalla, and Adyapadi.
