NCL CMD Bhola Singh conferred with TMES Lifetime Achievement Award

New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited's (NCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Bhola Singh has been conferred with the Technology Mining Engineering Society (TMES) Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution of more than 35 years in coal industry on March 10 by the Mining Department, IIT Kharagpur during the GREAT STEP Technical fest.

Singh is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and attended the fest as Chief Guest. Under the aegis of IIT Kharagpur, the GREAT STEP (Geo Research Engineering and Technology Students’ Teachers’ and Employers’ Partnership) fest is being organised from March 10 to March 12 for encouraging the talent of students in solving the mining industry problems by the Department of Mining.

Singh has completed B. Tech (Hons.) in Mining Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. He is a seasoned mining engineer with more than 35 years of experience in reputed public and private sector organizations. Before joining as CMD, NCL he has served Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) as Director (Technical).

Under the dynamic leadership of Bhola Singh, NCL has already met its annual coal production, coal dispatch, and overburden removal targets much ahead of schedule in FY 2022-23.

It is hereby noted that Singh is the recipient of the ‘National Mine Safety Award’ from the President of India in 2017. He has also authored several technical papers on blasting and rock fragmentation in journals of national and international repute.
