NCL provides prosthesis & assistive devices to Divyaangjans

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has distributed prostheses and assistive devices to Divyaangjans in a programme organised under its CSR initiative

Singrauli: Aimed at enabling and assisting persons with disabilities, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) gave 304 prostheses and assistive devices to 207 Divyaangjans (Differently able persons) in a programme organised on Friday at its Nehru Shatabdi Chikitshalaya, Jayant under corporate social responsibility (CSR).

On the occasion, NCL's Director (Finance and Personnel) Nag Nath Thakur, local MLA Ram Lallu Vaishya, NCL's General Manager (Personnel) Charles Juster, General Manager (CSR) Atmeshwar Pathak, chief of medical services SK Bhoval along with other employees and beneficiaries remain present in the event.  Addressing the gathering NN Thakur said that it is a matter of pride for NCL, who has got the opportunity for this noble cause.

NCL's General Manager (CSR) presented the brief report of NCL's CSR work along with details of the previous distribution of prosthesis and assistive devices.

In the programme battery operated tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, sensory assistance, knee ankle foot, knee prosthesis, elbow prosthesis, and other devices were distributed to Divyaangjans. Beneficiaries were examined and identified by NCL along with a team of  Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) in the test camps organised between November 13 to 19 at Bina, Khadia and NSC Jayant.

Notably, for the inclusive and sustainable development of society in and around company's operational area, NCL has divided  its CSR works into seven different major  heads like  'Gaon-Jodo', 'Sab Sakshar', 'Sab Swastya', 'Swachh Jal', 'Khel Tarang', 'Kaushal', and 'Aadhar.'
