Nepal Govt presents a token of appreciation to SJVN CMD

New Delhi: In recognition of the immense and valuable contributions of SJVN CMD NL Sharma in the development of energy sector in Nepal, the Government of Nepal has presented a token of appreciation to him.

Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dhahal ‘Prachnda’ presented this token of appreciation. Arun Dhiman, CEO of SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company (SAPDC) received this token on behalf of Sharma. The award was presented during 12th Anniversary Celebrations function of Investment Board of Nepal (IBN). The function was attended by majority of Cabinet Ministers of the Government of Nepal, Ambassadors of Different Countries and FDI investors.

The unrelenting efforts made by Sharma have played an important role in development of hydro power sector in Nepal. His contributions are of great significance, especially in expediting the signing of Project Development Agreement (PDA) of Lower Arun HEP (669 MW) in a record time. Under his dynamic leadership, SJVN is developing three Hydro Projects of 2199 MW in Nepal, which are 900 MW Arun-3, 669 MW Lower Arun & 630 MW Arun-4 Hydro Electric Project. Team SJVN is striving hard to achieve the targeted portfolio of 5,000 MW by 2030 in Nepal.

The implementation of these projects will enable India to import 10 GW of power from Nepal. This will also strengthen the bilateral ties between two nations and help in achieving the India-Nepal Joint Vision on Power Sector Cooperation.
