New Delhi: NMDC celebrated the 77th Republic Day across its corporate office in Hyderabad and mining projects nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to responsible mining, sustainable development, and nation-building.
NMDC's Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Amitava Mukherjee unfurled the national flag at NMDC’s Head Office in the presence of senior management and employees. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the company’s strong operational performance and growth trajectory, stating that NMDC aims to contribute over 50 million tonnes of iron ore in FY25. As of December 2025, the company recorded production of 36.9 million tonnes, marking a 20 percent increase over the corresponding period last year. He also noted the commencement of mining operations at the Tokisud North Coal Block in Jharkhand in January 2026, marking NMDC’s entry into a new commodity and geography.
As part of the celebrations, NMDC organised ‘Republic Day Run’ events across its projects in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka to promote unity, fitness, and collective progress. The run at Bacheli and Kirandul was graced by NMDC’s brand ambassador and two-time World Champion boxer Nikhat Zareen. The company also organised chess competitions for students in association with The Hindu and recreational activities for employees, with winners felicitated during the समारोह.
Republic Day celebrations across NMDC locations reflected the organisation’s people-centric approach and its continued focus on sustainable mining practices, employee well-being, community engagement, and contributing to India’s infrastructure growth.
