NMDC Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Amitava Mukherjee unfurled the national flag at the Hyderabad headquarters in the presence of Functional Directors — Director (Technical) Vinay Kumar, Director (Production) Joydeep Dasgupta and Director (HR) & Director (Finance, Additional Charge) Priyadarshini Gaddam along with employees and their families.

Addressing the gathering, Mukherjee underscored NMDC’s role as “a vehicle for the vision of India,” stating that every tonne of ore mined and every coil of steel produced carries the weight of national trust. He announced NMDC’s firm target of achieving 55 million tonnes of production in FY 2025–26, in line with its goal of 100 million tonnes by 2030.

Highlighting key milestones at NMDC Steel Ltd. (NSL), he noted August 2025 achievements including a single-day hot metal production record of 11,205 tonnes, a Q1 FY'26 profit after tax of Rs 25.7 crore, and the successful rollout of 1.2 mm thick hot rolled coil. “NSL has inherited this deep sense of responsibility to the people and the planet from NMDC,” he said.

The celebrations included various competitions organised in the preceding week at the corporate office and project sites in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, with winners felicitated during the event. Across all mining units, NMDC reaffirmed its commitment to nation-building, sustainable growth, and the vision of a stronger, self-reliant India.
