NTPC Bongaigaon marks World Earth Day with plantation drive

NTPC Bongaigaon observed World Earth Day on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet” with a plantation drive organized by EMG Department

New Delhi: In a tribute to the planet and its ecosystems, NTPC Bongaigaon observed World Earth Day on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet” with a plantation drive organized by the Environment Management Group (EMG) Department. The initiative highlighted NTPC’s continued focus on environmental stewardship and sustainable living.

NTPC Bongaigaon's Head of Project Arnab Maitra inaugurated the drive by planting saplings in the presence of senior officials from various departments. As part of the observance, more than 30 saplings, including fruit-bearing and native species, were planted across the township and plant premises.

On the occasion, Maitra underlined the importance of collective responsibility in addressing climate change and conserving biodiversity. He also appreciated the EMG Department's efforts in organizing the initiative and encouraged employees to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.
