NTPC CMD honoured with leadership excellence award by the President

NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh has been conferred with the Individual Leadership Excellence Award at the SCOPE Eminence Awards 2022-23

New Delhi: NTPC Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Gurdeep Singh has been conferred with the Individual Leadership Excellence Award at the SCOPE Eminence Awards 2022-23. The award was presented by the Hon’ble President of India Droupadi Murmu, at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The event has been attended by the Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, Secretary (Department of Public Enterprises) K Moses Chalai, SCOPE Chairman KP Mahadevaswamy along with CMDs and Directors of other CPSEs.

The recognition highlights Singh’s role in steering NTPC’s energy transition and strengthening its clean energy portfolio. Under his leadership, the company has accelerated diversification, innovation, and adoption of new-age technologies, positioning itself as a frontrunner in sustainable power generation.

NTPC, India’s largest integrated power utility, currently has an installed capacity of 83 GW, with 30.90 GW under construction, including 13.3 GW of renewable energy projects. The company has set a target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032 as part of its long-term sustainability vision.

With a portfolio spanning thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power, NTPC contributes nearly one-fourth of India’s power requirement. The company continues to focus on delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity while aligning with the nation’s clean energy goals.
