NTPC Kanti has always been one step ahead in CSR: Head of Project

New Delhi: A press conference has been organised at NTPC Kanti, Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station (2x195 MW) on Tuesday. On this occasion, the Head of Project of NTPC Kanti KMK Prusty praised the press personnel expressing happiness for their cooperation in the past years. He said that NTPC Kanti is taking all possible steps for the development of the Kanti area along with its professional operation work as well as its social responsibility.

He informed the media about the production of NTPC Kanti and said that “Kanti station is first among NTPC’s non-pit head stations in terms of Plant Load Factor and it is a matter of great pride. In terms of power generation, Unit #4 (195MW) recorded best ever continuous run of 197 days on June 11, 2022 surpassing its previous best record of 109 days (February 8, 2020 to May 28, 2020).

During this year 2022-23, Kanti station has achieved the MoU target by producing 2946 MU electricity till 27-03-2023. This year 107 percent ash utilisation was achieved which is a great achievement. NTPCKanti met all standards of health, safety and environment.

Addressing the media, he further added that “NTPC Kanti has always been one step ahead in corporate social responsibility. We have organized medical camps every week in the nearby villages, from which about 2500 villagers have benefitted so far. In today's digital era, modern methods of education and computer knowledge are very important to keep pace with the world. In this sequence, with the aim of promoting the level of education, we have decided to set up smart classrooms in 5 government schools in Kanti. For the empowerment of girl students, we have started a wellness program in the local schools here. To promote women's empowerment and economic independence, we organized mushroom training, beekeeping training, and lac bangle training program. We will soon send 30 students for training for employment and skill development of the youth. This training will be organised for three months at CIPET i.e. Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, Hajipur. NTPC Kanti has started many new initiatives this year. These are only a few of the selected steps taken by NTPC Kanti to increase social concern. HOP thanked the media persons for their cooperation.

Along with Head of Project of NTPC Kanti KMK Prusty, Anand Banerjee (GM, O&M), Manoj Sinha (C&M), KM Prashanth, HOHR along with senior officials of NTPC Kanti were present on the occasion.
