CEM is a global forum comprising 29 member governments and 21 participating countries dedicated to advancing clean energy policies and technologies. The station earned this recognition for developing a high-quality case study that shares insights into the process and benefits of establishing an ISO 50001-certified energy management system.

The award is part of the CEM Energy Management Leadership Awards program, which highlights organizations demonstrating excellence in energy management. To qualify, NTPC Talcher Kaniha submitted a comprehensive case study detailing its experiences and the positive impact of ISO 50001 on its operations. This award-winning case study is now featured on the CEM website, serving as a resource and inspiration for other organisations seeking to achieve lasting energy and cost savings.
