NTPC Vindhyachal celebrates 80th Independence Day with focus on inclusivity and nation-building

NTPC Vindhyachal celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Stadium with patriotic fervour

New Delhi/Vindhyanagar: NTPC Vindhyachal celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Stadium with patriotic fervour, reaffirming its commitment to nation-building, excellence and inclusive development.

Executive Director (Vindhyachal) Kishore Kumar Hota unfurled the National Flag in the presence of senior officials, CISF personnel, employees, students, teachers and township residents. The celebrations included the National Anthem, inspection of contingents and a march-past by CISF personnel and students from township schools.

Addressing the gathering, Hota highlighted key achievements of NTPC Vindhyachal and acknowledged the contribution of employees, welfare bodies, clubs, associations and associates towards sustaining the station’s culture of excellence.

As part of its CSR initiative, NTPC Vindhyachal distributed 16 bicycles to girl students of Government Higher Secondary School, Vindhyanagar. The initiative aims to facilitate daily commuting, encourage regular school attendance and support girl empowerment and inclusive education.

The celebrations also recognised excellence and service across various categories. Twelve meritorious students from Classes X and XII received Best Student Awards, while 86 employees were honoured with HOP Meritorious Awards. The event also recognised seven Health Champions, four recipients of the Manveeyata Puraskar, three members of the SC/ST Association for their contribution towards educating needy students, and 21 CISF personnel for their bravery and contribution to workplace security.

Best Turnout and Best Contingent Awards were also presented to outstanding participants in the march-past, while winners of the Project-Level Medha Pratiyogita 2026 were felicitated.

Students from township schools including Bal Bhawan, Government School, SSM, DPS and De Paul presented cultural programmes centred on unity, patriotism, the freedom struggle and togetherness. CISF personnel also conducted a demonstration showcasing emergency preparedness, discipline and coordinated response.

As part of the celebrations, Hota, accompanied by the leadership team and senior members of the ladies’ club, visited Vindhya Hospital, distributed fruits among patients and extended Independence Day greetings.

The celebrations concluded with a renewed commitment by NTPC Vindhyachal towards performance, integrity, innovation and inclusivity in its contribution to nation-building.
