New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC), a state-owned mining major, marked the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour through celebrations held at its head office in Bhubaneswar as well as across its regional establishments, mine sites, and educational institutions supported by the corporation.
At the corporation’s head office in Bhubaneswar, Sudhansu Mohan Samal (IAS) Managing Director of OMC, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of senior leadership, including Sabyasachi Mohanty, Director (Operations), Alok Kumar Pal, Director (HR), and Bana Bihari Pani, Director (Finance). The event was attended by sectional heads, senior officials, and employees.
OMC also organised flag-hoisting ceremonies at its regional offices and operational mine sites such as Daitari, Barbil, Gandhamardan, Rayagada, Koira, and Jajpur Road. The celebrations extended to OMC-funded educational institutions, including Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs) and DAV Public School. These events brought together employees and students, who participated in cultural performances and activities reflecting the spirit of national pride.
OMC, a Government of Odisha undertaking, is among the country’s largest mining corporations and regularly engages in initiatives that combine community development with employee welfare.
