REC honoured for its contribution to promote official language 'Hindi'

New Delhi: REC Limited’s Corporate Office in Gurugram has been honoured by the Antarrashtriya Hindi Parishad for its outstanding contribution to the promotion and propagation of Hindi as the Official Language and its effective implementation in day-to-day official work.

The recognition was conferred at a ceremony held at the Bihar Legislative Assembly Hall in Patna on August 27, 2026. The award was presented by the Governor of Nagaland Nandkishore Yadav and the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly Prem Kumar.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished personalities, including former Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad, former Union Ministers Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Sanjay Paswan, and former DGP of Bihar Alok Raj.

S.K. Bage, Senior General Manager and Chief Programme Manager (CPM) of REC’s Patna office, received the award on behalf of the company.

The recognition acknowledges REC’s sustained efforts towards effective implementation of the Official Language policy, wider use of Hindi in official work, organisation of Official Language-related training programmes and promotion of Hindi through modern technologies.

REC said the award reflects the collective efforts, dedication and commitment of its officers and employees towards promoting the Official Language. The recognition is also expected to encourage the company to further strengthen the use of Hindi in its official business and continue its initiatives for the promotion of the language.
