RINL launches 'Swachhta Hi Seva 2024' campaign to promote cleanliness

New Delhi: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has officially launched the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva 2024’ campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering cleanliness and social responsibility. The campaign will run from September 14 to October 1, 2024, with a focus on the theme 'Swabhav Swachhta - Sanskar Swachhta', which emphasizes the importance of cleanliness as both a habit and a cultural value.

The inaugural event at RINL's Visakhapatnam Steel Plant saw senior management leading by example, as a Swachhta Pledge was administered to key personnel. Attendees included RINL's Director (Personnel) SC Pandey; Director (Finance) SRVGK Ganesh; Director (Commercial) GVN Prasad; and Chief Vigilance Officer Dr S Karuna Raju along with other senior officers and employees. All pledged their commitment to promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility within the organisation and the wider community.

Throughout the Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 campaign, RINL will organize a variety of activities aimed at engaging employees, contract workers, students, and sanitation workers. These initiatives include:

Swachhata Bhageedar: Cleanliness drives encouraging collective participation across departments.

Safety Awareness Sessions: Sessions on ‘Swachhata Suraksha ke Saath’ focused on safety and cleanliness for contract laborers within the plant.

Bala Swachhta Jagruti: Awareness programs for school children to promote responsibility and collective participation in maintaining school hygiene.

Creative Competitions: Events such as slogan writing, essay contests, and painting/poster competitions to raise awareness among students about the importance of cleanliness.

Tree Plantation Campaign: Mass tree plantation initiative under the banner 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'.

Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs: Awareness programs on personal hygiene and health practices for sanitation workers, along with preventive healthcare treatments.

RINL's active participation in the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign demonstrates its commitment to promoting cleanliness and sustainability, aligning with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The campaign not only aims to improve environmental cleanliness but also fosters a culture of collective responsibility and awareness across various sectors of society.
