RSP to create awareness amongst contract labour regarding COVID-19

However, SAIL's Delhi headquarters has been sealed after COVID-19 positive cases were found in some top-level officials

Rourkela: In order to create awareness amongst contract labour and supervisors regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and also for their engagement, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) by the Contract Labour Cell has launched various competitions for them. The comprehensive step initiated under the guidance of Plant's CEO Dipak Chattaraj aims at reaching out the contract workers as well as supervisors and boosting their morale.         

Under the scheme, essay, slogan writing and poster competitions will be organised for three months and the winners will be suitably awarded. The first, second and third prize winners will get Rs. 800/-, Rs. 500/- and Rs. 300/- respectively while a total of 5 consolation prizes of Rs. 100/- will also be awarded in each category.   

For the month of June, the topic of the essay is 'Avoid COVID-19 – prevention is better than cure'. Similarly, for the slogan writing and poster competition, the topic is, 'Precautions for COVID-19'. The entries can be submitted in Odia, Hindi and English languages and the entries will be accepted up to June 15, at Personnel-CLC office. Contract labour with valid PIN and pass can participate in the competition.
