Bengaluru: Ramendra Kumar, GM (Public Relations) and Chief of Communications, SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been conferred the 'Hall of Fame' award by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI). Hailed as one of the highest recognitions for the PR professionals in the country, the award was presented during the 4th Global Communication Conclave organised at Bengaluru recently.
With more than three decades of experience in the field of Public Relations, Kumar is the Chief of Communications of RSP since 2011. He has been reinventing the PR strategies keeping in view the changing times. In response to the evolving media ecosystem, he developed a crisis management module, which has received widespread acclaim. Kumar has introduced another new practice in which each shop floor of the Plant was requested to nominate one individual as a communication catalyst. This system has revolutionised the internal communication dynamics in the organisation. Earlier too case studies on PR scripted and presented by Kumar have won national awards.

RSP's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dipak Chattaraj has congratulated Kumar for the outstanding achievement and has said that RSP is proud of him.
Kumar has dedicated the award to his Karmabhoomi Odisha and said that he is grateful to RSP for giving him the opportunity to explore fresh avenues and implement new strategies so as to bring a paradigm shift in both internal and external communications.
