SCOPE holds 51st AGM, reaffirms commitment to strengthening public sector for a Viksit Bharat

New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the apex body representing Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), convened its 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently, highlighting a year of strategic initiatives and reaffirming its vision to strengthen the public sector’s contribution towards building a Viksit Bharat.

The AGM was addressed by SCOPE Chairman & NBCC CMD KP Mahadevaswamy; SCOPE Vice-Chairman & Goa Shipyard Limited CMD Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay; and SCOPE Director General Atul Sobti. The event witnessed participation from a large gathering of CMDs, Directors, and senior officials from across PSEs.

In his address, Mahadevaswamy underscored the vital role of public enterprises in driving inclusive and sustainable national growth. He commended SCOPE’s consistent efforts in fostering leadership excellence, policy advocacy, and international collaboration to enhance the global competitiveness of Indian PSEs.

The AGM showcased several key initiatives undertaken by SCOPE over the past year, including the launch and membership drive of the SCOPE Social Interaction Centre and the rollout of leadership development programmes such as DAKSH and AGLP 2.0, aimed at nurturing future-ready leaders. SCOPE’s contribution to recognising excellence through the prestigious SCOPE Awards and its active engagement in the PSE ecosystem were also highlighted.

The meeting further emphasised SCOPE’s instrumental role in policy advocacy and its participation in international and national platforms such as the ILO, OECD, EPFO, ESIC, and DTNBWED, enabling PSEs to align with global best practices. Additionally, SCOPE’s efforts towards promoting sustainable development, greening initiatives, and knowledge enhancement through collaborations with various institutions were acknowledged.

Outlining the roadmap ahead, SCOPE reaffirmed its commitment to continue effective policy advocacy, foster leadership development, promote skill enhancement for a sustainable future, and expand the reach of its SCOPE Forum of Conciliation and Arbitration (SFCA). The apex body reiterated its mission to empower public enterprises as pivotal drivers of India’s growth journey towards a Viksit Bharat.
