New Delhi: Yoga, a gift from ancient India, is a trusted way to enhance physical and mental well-being. The word "Yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj," meaning "to join" or "unite." It symbolizes the union of mind and body, thought and action, and harmony between humans and nature, promoting holistic health. Thanks to the efforts of PM Narendra Modi, the UN General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day (IYD). The UNGA recognized Yoga's holistic approach to health and its global benefits, sparking a health revolution emphasizing prevention over cure.

Intersolar Europe, the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, is part of The smarter E Europe, the continent’s largest energy industry platform. It focuses on photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies, and solar power plants. From June 19 to June 21, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) participated in this prestigious event in Munich, Germany.

On International Yoga Day 2024, the SECI team, led by Director (Solar) Sanjay Sharma, performed Yoga at their booth. This attracted many curious onlookers from nearby international booths, who cheered, took photos, made videos, and interacted with the SECI team to learn more about Yoga and IYD. It was a fun and enriching experience, allowing the team to share information about India with participants from other countries. Few international participants joined the SECI team, trying out simple yet interesting Yoga poses, which led to much amusement and enjoyment. Through this effort, the SECI team aimed to globalize Yoga and share India's rich cultural heritage.
