SJVN celebrates International Women’s Day 2024

New Delhi: SJVN hosted a spectacular event in honour of International Women’s Day 2024 at Shimla. SJVN's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Geeta Kapur presided over the function. Geeta Phogat, Arjuna Award Winner renowned Indian Wrestler & Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist was the Special Guest of the occasion and delivered an inspiring Motivational Talk. The event organised on this year’s campaign theme #InspireInclusion was attended by 179 women participants.

Addressing the present gathering, Chief Guest Kapur emphasized the historical and cultural significance of women's contributions, citing them as pillars of empowerment for future generations. She applauded Geeta Phogat for her ground-breaking achievements, including being the first Indian woman to secure gold in wrestling at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and first Indian female wrestler to qualify for Olympic Summer Games in 2012.

Geeta Kapur, herself a trailblazer as the first female Functional Director and CMD of SJVN, reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to foster a work environment rooted in inclusivity, respect and support for every individual.

Geeta Phogat in her Motivational Talk shared the journey of overcoming challenges in the wrestling arena at national and international level. She motivated the attendees to never give Up and remain resilient in all their pursuits.

During the event, SJVN Executive Director (Human Resources) Chandra Shekhar Yadav delivered a thought-provoking Vedic address on the innate feminine power that sustains the universe. He said that by organising such events, SJVN has been actively participating in the global mission to recognise the crucial role of inclusion in achieving gender equality.

An outbound training session on team building & model making on the Women’s Day theme was also organised during the function. SJVN has been organising this event on a grand scale for over five years to celebrate the invaluable contributions of its female workforce that has led the company to greater heights.

The event concluded with a resounding message of empowerment and determination, echoing SJVN's commitment to championing gender equality and inclusivity in all spheres of operation.
