SJVN organises walkathon and cleanliness drive in Shimla

SJVN is observing 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' 2024 in all its offices and projects from September 17 to October 20

New Delhi: SJVN is observing 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' 2024 in all its offices and projects from September 17 to October 20. SJVN organised a Walkathon and Cleanliness Drive at Shimla on Wednesday. The aim of these events is to create awareness for preservation of the environment and ensure community involvement in keeping the surroundings clean. The collaborative efforts between students and local authorities highlight the significance of community engagement in achieving the goals of the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign.

The event graced by Director Personnel (Designate) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Director (Civil) S Maraswamy, Executive Director (HR) Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Heads of Departments, employees of SJVN and students of Govt. High School (GHS), Navbahar, Shimla began with Swachhata Anthem.

The Walkathon started from SJVN Office Complex and concluded at Dhobi Ghat, Chotta Shimla. Around 150 enthusiastic participants, including students from GHS Navbahar participated in the Walkathon highlighting the message of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

A comprehensive cleanliness drive was also organised at Dhobi Ghat, Chotta Shimla in collaboration with Sanitation Workers from Municipal Corporation, Shimla. This initiative aimed to improve sanitation related facilities and raise community awareness about cleanliness.

In this series, a Poster-Making Competition was organised on September 24 in which 60 students from GHS, Navbahar, Shimla participated. The winners of the competition were honoured by Director Personnel (Designate) Ajay Sharma for their outstanding creativity and commitment to the cause.
